Elizabeth Tinglof | MFA Painting and Photography Candidate

Elizabeth Tinglof received her BFA from Otis College of Art and Design and is currently an MFA painting and photography candidate at CSUN. Last year she was awarded the Hans Burkhardt Memorial Scholarship for painting and is currently one of CSUN’s teaching associates.

Elizabeth recently traveled to the Gulf of Mexico as a volunteer to document oil spill impact imagery for an environmental organization called Louisiana Bucket Brigade. First she was sent to Grand Isle, Louisiana where she recorded the initial devastation of the BP Oil Spill and later photographed the spill’s continued environmental effects to the Mississippi Coast. As part of Elizabeth’s thesis work she is exploring the struggle between natural and artificial elements as it pertains to environmental disasters.

  1. These photographs reminds me of master Salgado’s work on oil spills. What forbat is being used in these photos ? And where could I see more of Elizabeth’s work ?
