At Cal State Northridge’s first annual academic hip-hop conference, Ayk A. Terjimanian, a doctoral student in Educational Administration, gave this talk on the origins and primary elements of hip-hop music and culture. Organized by the Hip Hop Think Tank in the Department of Pan African Studies, the Nov. 2011 event featured lectures, panel discussions and performances by students and professional artists including Blu and Yo-Yo.
