(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Apr. 16th, 2009) ―

It’s that time of the year again, when Cal State Northridge’s top student artists compete for the winning title at the “Annual Juried Art Student Show” taking place April 24 through May 19.

More than 60 works of art from both graduate and undergraduate CSUN students will be on display at the university’s Art Galleries located on the north end of campus off Halsted Street, east of Etiwanda Avenue.

The featured works were selected from more than 300 entries received from various media including animation, computer design, graphic design, video, illustration and sculpture, among others.

The show will commence with a reception on Friday, April 24, from 7 to 9 p.m., when the winners and honorable mentions will be announced. The winners, selected by a team of outside jurors, will receive cash prizes from the Arts Council for CSUN.

The jury is composed of curator Aaron Rose, UCLA professor and artist Don Saggs, and artist and art writer Ashley McLean-Emenegger.

The galleries’ hours are Monday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. and Thursday, noon to 8 p.m.
