(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 16th, 2009) ―

Free speech has always been a fundamental part of this country. To say what is on your mind without any repercussion is an essential right for anyone.

Cal State Northridge’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) invites the public in celebrating the right to free speech.

EOP will present its “Third Annual Free Speech Event,” on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Matador Square located on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

The tradition began in 2007 as an effort to encourage individuals on campus to exercise their fundamental rights to free speech and express their thoughts without fear or censorship.

EOP has been dedicated to increasing retention rates and providing educational access to highly motivated, low-income, first generation college students in the CSU system.

For any information or to RSVP a time for your speech, contact the EOP office at (818) 677-4151.
