Led by a 2-under-par 69 from Alice Kim, the UC Davis women’s golf team finished in a tie for 11th place Wednesday in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev.
Chelsea Stelzmiller shot a 71 to lead all Aggies with a tie for seventh at 7-under 209, and Kim finished tied for 31st at 216.
Pepperdine won the team title by 12 strokes over Oklahoma State, and the Waves’ Lisa McCloskey shot her third round in the 60s to win medalist honors at 17-under 199. Cindy LaCrosse of Louisville and Theresa Koelbaek of UNLV tied for second a shot back.
UCD women’s basketball team picked third
The Big West Conference women’s basketball coaches and media picked UC Davis to finish third this season, and Aggies junior wing Haylee Donaghe was named to the preseason all-conference team. UC Riverside is the favorite in both polls.
On the men’s side, the coaches picked UCD to finish fifth, and the media tabbed the Aggies seventh. Both groups selected Cal State Northridge to place first.
