CSUN President Jolene Koester will serve as AASCU chair in 2009

Northern Kentucky University President James Votruba was named Chair-Elect of the American Association of State Colleges & Universities (AASCU) by its Board of Directors at AASCU’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday. He will serve as AASCU Chair in 2010.

Votruba is completing a three-year term as secretary-treasurer of the AASCU Board. He also served as chair of AASCU’s 2002 Task Force on Public Engagement and spent three years serving on the AASCU Nominating Committee, which recommends candidates for leadership positions within the association.

In addition, Votruba served as a faculty member for the New President’s Academy from 2005-06 and as a member of the Committee on Policies and Purposes. He also provided leadership for the Presidents’ Symposium on Regional Stewardship.

Jolene Koester, president of California State University, Northridge, will serve as AASCU Chair in 2009. Southeast Missouri State University President Kenneth Dobbins will replace Votruba as secretary-treasurer.
