| GREGORY, Gayle Kardoos Passed away December 19, 2008. Born in Michigan December 31, 1955 as the second of four children, Gayle was raised in Stockton, California. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.S. in nutrition and food science and later took her M.A. at California State University, Northridge; her thesis on beta carotene was published in the Journal Of Food Science. She was on the faculty both at Peppardine University and the Pritikin Institute before retiring to the rigors of raising three daughters. Always curious, Gayle was keenly interested in nutrition, yoga, cooking (including world class pizza), the humor in life and people, forever walking in the neighborhood or on the beach and, most of all, her family. Gayle passed away December 19, 2008 following an eight year battle with cancer. Always cheerful and upbeat, Gayle exhibited a natural grace and calm, taking life in stride and enjoying her marriage and children. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; their three beautiful daughters: Jayna, Taryn and Kendra; as well as her father, George Kardoos (and wife Linda); brother, Rick Kardoos; sister, Deanne Salmon (and husband D’Miles); and sister, Pamela Trout (and husband Tony). She loved and cherished her family, friends and community. The family held a private service. We invite your donations in Gayle’s memory to the City of Hope, attn: Rick Leonard, 1055 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90017.
