(02-26) 17:05 PST San Fernando, CA (AP) –
The son of the head basketball coach at California State University, Northridge, has pleaded not guilty to grand theft and commercial burglary.
Jeffrey Braswell, 22, and two co-defendants entered not-guilty pleas Thursday in a San Fernando court. A fourth man pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges last month. He was sentenced to probation and work service.
Braswell is the son of Northridge coach Bobby Braswell. Prosecutors contend that while working at a Best Buy store in Porter Ranch last month, Braswell allowed his friends to take more than $6,600 worth of merchandise without paying.
Also charged are Phannuel Gbewonyo and Northridge basketball player Deon Tresvant.
