Two college students — one at San Diego State University, the other at Cal State Long Beach — are suspected of having swine flu, administrators said today.
The student in San Diego lives off-campus and will not be allowed back on campus until her condition improves to the point where she is no longer infectious. She is receiving treatment and resting at home.
After consulting with San Diego County health officials, President Stephen Weber and other university officials decided not to cancel classes.
Final test results were pending today for the Cal State Long Beach student diagnosed “probable positive” for swine flu, city health officials said. The female student lives at the Los Alamitos Residence Hall, which is on the school’s campus. She fell ill Sunday and went to student health services Monday, officials said.
