Alum Ronald Rodriguez, now a librarian at CSU Fullerton, is honored

Librarian honored: Ronald Rodriguez, Cal State Fullerton librarian, has been awarded the Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year Award, presented each year by the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking.

“I hope that recognition like this may spark some interest in students that a career in librarianship is available and waiting for them,” he said in “Titan” magazine.

Rodriguez has served on the CSUF library staff from 1989 to 1995, then again since 2006. Rodriguez received a bachelor’s degree in English and Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, a master of public administration degree from Cal State Fullerton, as well as a master’s in library science and information from UCLA.

For dads: A Tribute to Fathers will be held this Father’s Day in Santa Ana.

The event, sponsored by El Centro Cultural de México and Fiesta Marketplace, takes place Sunday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fiesta Marketplace, near Third and Bush streets in Santa Ana.

The event features music, dance, drawings and a dominoes tournament.

Writers: Three writers will present their books at Libreria Martinez Books and Art Gallery this weekend.
