(July 30, 2009)

Published on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 10:20 PM PDT Barbara Shaw-Vermeer was born on Dec. 5, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana and joined her Lord on July 25, 2009.  She was a stay-at-home Mom during the first 15 years when her children were growing up. She enjoyed traveling to Scandinavia, Holland, Hawaii, Canada, Alaska and many other parts of the United States. Barbara also loved singing and ballroom dancing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband of 56 years, Max Shaw, and grandson, Rob Esteb. She married Warren “Bud” Vermeer in 1996 and they traveled extensively when not at the Moose or Elks Lodge. She is survived by her husband, Warren (Bud) Vermeer, her sister, Virginia (Clair) Johnson, three children, Darryl (Margie) Shaw, Lois (Fred) Cohen, Randall (Marilyn) Shaw, five grandchildren, Tim (Allison) Shaw, Jennifer (Michael) Maroney, Keith Shaw, Bill Brown, Brian Shaw, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grand-daughter and her wonderful care provider of four years, Melba Casulla.
