Patricia Margaret Rouse Dodwell of Oxnard, passed away at the age of 78 on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. Pat was born on Aug. 2, 1931, in Trenton, N.J.
All who were fortunate enough to share her company will always remember her compassionate, caring and fun-loving nature. After relocating to Newbury Park, and while raising five children, Pat earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from California State University, Northridge. She worked in private practice as a marriage and family therapist. Pat was also a Bible teacher at her local church and shared God’s love through the women’s prison ministry. Travel was one of Pat’s many passions, with Yosemite National Park being her favorite retreat. Pat is survived by daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Tim Kelly of Thousand Oaks; daughter, Jacalyn Kiely of Cameron Park; son, Jim Dodwell of Oxnard; daughter and son-in-law, Jeri and Karl Jacobi of Valley Springs; and son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Valerie Dodwell of Thousand Oaks. Nana will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren, Sean and Shannon Kiely, Jessica and Kara Kelly, Bradley and Amy Jacobi, John Anthony and Jayden Dodwell. Pat is predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Rodney Rouse, and sister Rita McManus. She is survived by sister, Ann Gaudin of Pennsylvania; sister, Marie Gray of Arizona; brother, Rodney Rouse of Ohio; brother, Anthony Rouse of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews. They all will deeply miss their beloved sister as well as will many of her dear friends. A service will be held on Nov. 7 at St. Julies Billiart Church, located at 2475 Borchard Road, Newbury Park at 1p.m. A reception will follow. |
