Electrical engineering alum Jeffrey Rodman, co-founder of Polycom, to address IP communications conference

(November 5, 2009)

NORWALK, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) today announced that Polycom`s Co-Founder
and CTO Jeffrey Rodman has accepted an invitation to join the list of Keynote
Presenters at ITEXPO East 2010, taking place January 20-22, 2010 at the Miami
Beach Convention Center. Rodman`s presentation, scheduled for Wednesday, January
20th at 4:00 PM, will discuss the future of IP-based audio and video
communications.

Since co-founding Polycom in 1990, Rodman has been instrumental in the
realization of Polycom's iconic products for voice, video, network
communications, and other media.

According to TMC CEO Rich Tehrani, ITEXPO attendees will be impressed with the
range of relevant topics Mr. Rodman will cover in his address.

"Jeffrey Rodman is one of the more accomplished, and diverse experts that we`ve
ever had speak at ITEXPO, and we`re thrilled to share his wide-ranging interests
with the audience at ITEXPO," said Rich Tehrani, CEO and group editor-in-chief
of TMC. "Polycom remains on the forefront of digital conference capabilities,
and I`m looking forward to hearing what Jeffrey and his team are working on at
ITEXPO."

Prior to founding Polycom, Rodman built the engineering organization responsible
for creating a revolutionary architecture at new startup PictureTel (then
PicTel). There, he built the foundation for a family of systems that would later
transform the industry. In 1980, Rodman joined Harris Video Systems and as
director of engineering, where he pioneered new digital video processing systems
for broadcast and production applications. He also spent six years developing
and enhancing video and testing capabilities for military guided missile
systems, at Hughes Aircraft Company. During this time, he created a novel
approach to sound synthesis, which formed the foundation for his Master`s
thesis, and led to the development of Specialty Video Systems for marketing
digital video effects in the entertainment industry. Rodman holds an MSEE and
BSEE Cum Laude in electronic engineering from CSUN.

"I`ve been privileged to be a part of the evolving communications industry for
more than 20 years, and I`ve seen some tremendous leaps in technology during
that time," said Rodman. "One element that I`m particularly interested in is
high definition audio and video, which is transforming how we communicate and
making a virtual experience as lifelike as being there in person. I`m honored to
speak at ITEXPO East, where we can explore the current and future state of
unified communications."

Drawing from this diverse experience, and from his background as virtuoso
pianist and composer, Rodman has developed a keen appreciation for the
importance of clear and reliable sound and vision for remote digital
conferencing. In his session at ITEXPO, he will discuss how transformations in
IP telephony are affecting the fundamental role personal remote communications.

Registration for ITEXPO remains open, and additional details on the full
conference agenda are available at www.itexpo.com. Members of the media can
