The Payne family hosted a gathering of Cal State University Northridge alumni and friends at their Malibu home on Oct. 18. The gathering featured a speech by CSUN President Jolene Koester, about a variety of issues affecting the campus, from the construction status of the new Valley Performing Arts Center to the decisions that the school’s administrators face as they grapple with the ongoing effects of the state budget crisis.
