Please note the Budget News website and the Campus Budget News FAQs were updated today to point to an extensive list of FAQs providing more specific information about the State Budget Furlough Program. These State Budget Furlough Program Implementation FAQs include the full list of designated furlough dates for Cal State Northridge, additional information on determining and scheduling furlough days, and other information known at this time. These FAQs are on the State Budget Program website maintained by Human Resources, and will be updated regularly.
Additionally, the Campus Budget News FAQs were updated to reflect that the California Faculty Association (CFA) today announced a furlough agreement with the CSU. More information is available on the CFA website.
The Campus Budget News FAQs page has been updated to let the campus community know that the Academic Professionals of California (APC) announced today that its members have voted to accept the CSU’s furlough proposal.
Additionally, Governor Schwarzenegger today signed the 2009-10 state budget. More information is available on the Governor’s Office website.
As a reminder, Human Resources has scheduled information sessions for Cal State Northridge employees to be furloughed (that is, employees represented by unions who have agreed to furlough, and employees such as administrators, managers, and confidential employees who are not represented by a union). The first such meeting was held today. Additional meetings will be held in the Oviatt Library Presentation Room on the following dates and times:
July 29 – 1:30-3:30pm
July 30 – 9:30-11:30am
July 30 – 1:30-3:30pm
July 31 – 10:00-12:00pm
Due to the rapidly changing nature of the CSU budget situation, expect continued updates to the FAQ in the coming days.
The Campus Budget News FAQs page has been updated to alert the campus community that the California Faculty Association announced today that its members have voted to negotiate a two day per month furlough. Additional information is available on the CFA website. The members of the Academic Professionals of California are currently voting and an announcement of the results of this vote is expected early next week.

Please note the Campus Budget News FAQs page has been updated to reflect the announcement that the California State University Employees Union (CSUEU) has ratified their agreement with the CSU to furlough two days per month.
Additionally, Governor Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders reached a budget agreement Monday evening, July 20. A vote of the Legislature is expected as early as Thursday of this week. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the state and CSU budget situation, expect continued updates to the FAQ in the coming days.

As noted in her email message today about the video, the video message provides as much information as possible about the current budget situation facing the CSU and Cal State Northridge, and acknowledges the worry and anxiety felt by individual members of the campus community.
In her message, the President also announced that she also has scheduled information meetings to discuss this situation with faculty and staff on the following days and times in the Presentation Room of the Oviatt Library:
