Upgrade to Office 2007 is now available. There are a couple of requirements that must be met prior to upgrading.
1. All users must take approved training workshop provided by IT. The user interface for Office 2007 is completely different from Office 2003. Here’s the web page for their schedule: http://www.csun.edu/it/training/trainclass.html
If you do not see the date you want to take the class, please contact training@csun.edu or call x1700.

Software vendors (such as Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Novell, Mozilla) routinely release patches to fix problems with their software. These patches are mostly related to security issues. Issues that allow malicious attackers to take over a computer, steal or compromise sensitive data. When these patches are released vendors usually mark them as “critical” which requires immediate installation. Systems & Technology subscribes to Novell ZENworks Patch Management (ZPM) service in order to manage and deploy the multitude of patches being released by our software vendors. A majority of these patches require a reboot of your workstation in order for them to become active. ZPM allows us to manage these reboots in a consistent manner and also gives the user flexibility by allowing reboots to be delayed or cancelled.
This figure illustrates what happens when ZPM installs patches that require a reboot of your computer (click on the image to zoom in).
