Active Directory Migration (AD)

Posted 05/27/2009 by Systems & Technology under Announcements, Desktops

This article is to prepare and inform you of the upcoming migration to Active Directory.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Systems & Technology is in the process of migrating to the csun.edu Active Directory domain.  Your computer and files/folders stored on our servers will be migrated to the Active Directory.  During the migration, we will also be upgrading our desktop management software to ZENworks version 10.   The migration process is automated and remotely performed except for a few pre and post-migration steps outlined below.

IMPACT TO YOU

During the scheduled migration you will not be able logon to your computers.  All files must be saved  and closed.  All users must logoff and leave their computers on.  You will not be able to login until we have successfully migrated.

After migration, you will use your campus (or portal) username and password to login to the workstation.

PRE-MIGRATION STEPS

Systems & Technology team will prepare you workstation the day prior to migration.  They will either remote control your machine or visit you personally to configure and install software on your workstation to prepare for migration.

POST MIGRATION STEPS

After migration Systems & Technology will want you to login and verify access to your shared folders.  The change you will see the most is the absense of the Novell login prompt.  The NAL will also be different; however, it will have the same funtionality.

Here are to post migration login instructions.
