Music has been around for quite some time, and it appears to will be around forever. It has captured the minds and souls of many people, from all the different races and cultures. People nowadays, in particular teenagers, are obsessed with music and the music world. They go as far as idolizing their favorite artist or artists. They walk like them, they talk like them, and they even dress like them. Obsessions such as these, in particular the dressing like these artists, aren’t bad, but they do have consequences, which people fail to realize.
Lately, artists have been associated with a wide range of different dressing styles. From Marilyn Manson, in his eccentric leather outfits, to Jay-Z, in his basketball jerseys and baggy pants. These styles appeal to many people, who in turn try to dress like these artists

There are many people who believe that celebrities only think about themselves and that they aren’t concerned with anyone else’s problems. To me a Hero is some one that you can look to and who inspirers you to be a better person. A celebrity is someone who gets paid a lot of money to pretend to be a hero. There are many problems that face America today such as hunger, poverty and most importantly War. Contrary to popular belief there are several celebrities who are concerned and that donate millions of dollars to charities and there are some who run their own charities. They include multimillionaire Bill Gates, talk-show host Rosie O’Donnell and Louis Armstrong.

Mass Media has become incredibly developed in the last decade and together with the growth of television, radio and magazines, as a side effect, more and more celebrities started to appear. Today’s celebrities are much more popular and “celebrity” is actually considered a social status. We all know who they are, see them on TV, hear them on the radio or read about them in magazines. They influence people’s life’s, inspire them in positive or sometimes negative ways.
Celebrity may be regarded as a result of globalization because modern mass communications make it possible. However, just being a good actor or singer is not enough to become a celebrity. Celebrity is not based on meritocracy. It has to be manufactured and, to switch metaphors, it is like an iceberg: entire industries, dedicated to the creation of celebrity, are hidden from view, and work tirelessly to support the visible part.
I want to talk about an essential element for a celebrity. Gossip has always been with us. But the traditional role of gossip was not just to allow us to talk about other people’s atrocious behavior, and It is part of being a celebrity to generate perpetual gossip, to create never ending fictions of pain and self pity, to produce invective about all those with whom you come into contact It was an agent of social control.
Now gossip is simply malicious talk. Value judgments are no longer in vogue and we have no language to describe what we think is good, proper or worthwhile. The function of gossip is to fuel our sordid details and trivial pursuits. Most of the people think they must know everything that happens in the daily life’s of celebrities.
Why do celebrities tolerate the public ownership of their personalities, the lack of privacy, and the constant gossip, much of it inaccurate? The obvious answers are money, fame and power. What is less obvious is that, in three senses, these rewards are more richly available than ever before.

Paris Hilton, famous as far as anyone knows for simply being Paris Hilton, hit the big screen in her first real starring role this month. and reviews were resoundingly unforgiving for”The Hottie and the Nottie”.Though Hilton may be a model, if her work in ‘Hottie’ is any indication, she is no actress,” wrote Carrie Rickey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Associated Press critic christy Lemire talked of Hilton ’s “nonexistent acting range.”The Miami Herald Connie Ogle wrote, “starring in an explicit sex tape or sobbing as you’re shipped off to jail or wearing giants shirts with your own picture on them aren’t nearly so humiliating as being associated with this rubbish.
none of this should come as a surprise, however, and for reasons that have little to do with Hilton herself. Film history is replete with the stories of people plucked from fields other than acting and asked to star in a movie. More often than not, the result embarrasses just about everybody.
