Nazarian College students were also able to enjoy a variety of cultural expeditions while traveling in China. They started with some popular spots in Qingdao, including the Tsingtao Beer Museum, St. Michael’s Cathedral and the May Fourth Square.

Our students were given the opportunity to test their business skills while perusing the Taidong Night Market. According to the students, it took them a couple of times to practice before they were able to bargain with sellers. Their goal was to get the best price on a product through bargaining, which is a common business practice in China.

While in Beijing, our students split into two separate groups: one visited the Summer Palace while the other went to the Beijing Zoo. It seems the Giant Pandas, China’s national treasure, was their favorite exhibit to observe at the zoo.

There was ample opportunity for our students to learn about Chinese culture while visiting spots such as the Great Wall, Hutong Tour, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven.

Despite all of the exercise they had been getting throughout the week, students also decided to join an outdoor Tai Chi class at a park in Beijing before their time in China came to an end.
